Le Creuset has been producing handmade cast iron cookware since 1925 in Fresnoy-Le-Grand in northern France. Each piece is made from a mould into which molten iron is poured. The mould is used only once, creating a unique piece which is then fired at temperatures of 840°C and finished by hand.
